a strange experience today, I think because of not being to shops in so long, getting most food from the garden, going to the supermarket didn't give me that feeling of wanting or hunger, at all. I guess it's all the packets etc nothing really seemed like food. I used to feel an excitement about the supermarket, especially when I was smaller. (I think that more people than would care to admit feel a feeling of excitement or comfort in supermarkets.) But the more nutrition books I read, the more films I see and the more I experience growing and eating fresh food, the more strange I feel walking these isles. That's on a personal level...not even the political stuff!
I've been getting to know the different places that I can get my local food from, it means going to more effort but it's very much worth it, taste, nutrient and feeling-wise. So here's to real food. To plants!
And on this subject here are some GREAT films to watch...you could even do that whilst eating something scrumptious...there couldn't be an easier way to get informed..

- Cesky Sen (Czech Dream)- A super clever, revealing and very funny supermarket experiment...
- TED talks- Mark Bittman on what's wrong with what we eat- This isn't a rant, but a well structured and understandable talk about the food we eat, why, and the alternatives.
- The Future of Food-The facts about the world's food, a must see.
